Our Interpreters
Maintaining a team of competent, professional, and incredibly skilled ASL interpreters is no easy task, but it’s a challenge we at Hands in Motion take on with the utmost care.
Our interpreters are screened for the following skill sets and achievements:
- Completion of an Interpreter Training Program (ITP) or higher degree from an accredited college or university.
- Holding certification.
- Experience interpreting high-level executive meetings, functions within the highest departments of government, plays and musicals performed in a multitude of venues, and legal proceedings.
- Skill sets that include certification and top notch experience in legal and medial environments.
Our interpreters hold certifications from some of the following granting organizations:
- Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
- National Association for the Deaf (NAD)
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
- Individual states also hold their own screening and assessments
Certified and Pre-Certified interpreters are required to keep learning once they have finished their studies or passed certifications. They attend a wide range of continuing education courses, which keep them fresh for working in today’s workforce.
All of our interpreters strictly follow the Code of Professional Conduct, as set out by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
*Interpreters holding national and state certifications for their profession are the hallmark of an exemplary interpreting agency.
